When I ask the children what they liked best about their stay, they often answer “the swimming pool” first! Very quickly afterwards, they say “the creative workshop”. But why do they love this Thursday morning activity?
I provide them with materials and give them a theme, then it’s up to them! Coloured sheets, cardboard, crepe paper, magazines, strings, wooden rods, leaves, flowers, twigs, … everything can be used to create. Some don’t need help, they just start cutting, gluing, making something. Others need a little guidance and stimulation to get started. No stakes, no performance, just have fun.
The result can be surprisingly inventive!
This activity for children is a calm time that allows them to express themselves. Whatever the age, accompanied or not by parents, they focus on their creative work. Representation of their pitch or of their favourite activity, postcard creation, cardboard portraits in the manner of Picasso… browse the slideshow below to discover their manual creations.
The + ? Seeing their eyes sparkle with pride when they tell me “I’m done, can I show it to my mom and dad ?
