To limit watering, we mulched the plots. This protects the soil and prevents too rapid evaporation of water for the benefit of plants.
Another trick to avoid watering: when planting, we water very generously the hole that will host the plant, until saturation of the soil (it must remain a little stagnant water in the planting hole). Once the plant is in place, it should not be watered. It will develop roots that will fetch water in depth. It will be more resistant to periods of drought.
It is a pleasure to watch the plants grow, the flowers arrive and the fruits. Have you ever tasted fresh peas, just picked and shelled … raw? I recommend you try!
Depending on the period, you can enjoy these pleasures, simple and true … At this moment, it is the zucchini … coming tomatoes, peppers or beans …
